About Oberlin World Vision Global 6k for Water

Join us as we partner with World Vision’s Global 6k for water on Saturday, May 4th. We are excited to have Oberlin as a host site for extraordinary event! The distance is significant, 6 km (approximately 3.7 miles) is the average distance people-usually women and girls- walk to get water for their families in the developing world. Often the walk is dangerous, children miss school, and the water is dirty. Nearly 1,000 children die each day due to lack of clean water and sanitation.

When you register online, World Vision will send you you a t-shirt, finisher’s medal, and a race bib with a photo of the child that you’ll be walking or running for that day. Every $50 registration fee will provide life-changing clean water to one person. Youth 18 and under can sign up for just $25!

It’s the perfect way to get moving with your family and friends while also changing the world! Walk, run, or push a stroller -however you cross the finish line, you’ll help transform the lives of these women and children!

Register by April 29th to receive your t-shirt, race bib, and medal in time. Look forward to walking/running with you all!
